7 Difficulties in Mono-material Pouches Production

Currently the hottest topic for flexible packaging is mono-material flexible packaging. But still there are so many difficulties in this packaging. So it is still not easy for all the flexible packaging manufacturers making that.

Longdapac has been in mono-material flexible pouches for more than 5 years. These are the 7 difficulties we listed:

1. Less choices for raw materials. ( Basically only mono-material PP pouches and mono-material PE pouches)
2. Shrinkage rate of the film will makes it more difficult to get good quality printing.
3. Heat Resistance problem.
4. High barrier function film. There are not too many ways to make the film high barrier. And the barrier function OTR and WVTR is not that good as the previous conventional materials.
5. Waste ratio is very high in production.
6. Difficulties in lamination, bag making, drop test, heat sealing.
7. Low speed in production.

After 5 years of testing and production. Longdapac is now making progress in all above problems. So currently Longdapac can make all kinds of 100% recyclable mono-material pouches to replace the previous conventional materials.

Currently we have below film structures:

100% recyclable mono-material PE pouches

100% reccyclable mono-material PP pouches

It can be high barrier, and retort pouches.

Currently our printing, laminating, bag making are with good quality. And it can make all kinds of bag types such as: roll stock, 3 side seal pouches, stand up pouches, spout pouches, side gusset bag, quad side seal bag, flat bottom pouches.
