Longdapac Launched High Barrier MDOPE Film

Currently 100% recyclable mono-material PE pouches is the best solution of recyclable pouches. High barrier MDOPE is the key to make the 100% recyclable high barrier mono-material PE pouches.

Longdapac started to make high barrier MDOPE from 2020, and now the new technology makes the high barrier MDOPE mature. Currently we have already provide high barrier MDOPE film for billions of pouches.

The problem we faced in 2020 of high barrier MDOPE coating.

  1. Unstable barrier properties after coating;
  2. The coating speed is low
  3. Easy to stretch when applying MDOPE;
  4. Originally, the coating machine did not have online corona treatment.

The process we made:

1) Shaftless rewinding and unwinding

 

The diameter of the unwinding material is 300mm and 800mm, with a width of 600-2400mm. To achieve high-speed rewinding and cutting, the design must start from the beginning. The dual station unwinding rack should be movable, and the cutting blade should be specially designed. According to the changes in the diameter, width, and thickness of the film, the thinnest layer should be coated with 4.5um BOPP, and the thickest layer should be 100um PE. To ensure smooth winding without reinforcement, the tension requirements for unwinding and unwinding must have a wide range of applications.

 

2) Corona discharge

 

In order to ensure that the substrate meets the required dielectric value before coating, the equipment is equipped with active roller corona treatment and active roller cooling function.

 

3) Coating head

 

The coating head of this coating machine can be used for forward or reverse coating.

 

The transmission accuracy of the coating roller is very important. Each roller has high-precision independent transmission, and the leveling of the coating liquid has a great impact on product quality. Before coating, the film is effectively flattened, and dust and static electricity are fully removed. It is necessary to have a high-speed coating anti shake rubber system, a constant temperature supply system, and a high-pressure rubber changing sleeve design for the rubber pressure roller to achieve rapid replacement of the rubber roller.

 

The coating head is designed with an automatic lubrication function when the machine is stopped, and a semi closed rubber plate. The solvent evaporation is greatly reduced, and the plate will not dry, avoiding quality problems and making the coating head safer.

 

The coating scraper adopts a dual axis moving, pneumatic back pressure scraper device and three-dimensional adjustment, which can effectively control the scraper angle and scraper pressure.

 

4) Oven

 

Adopting a segmented independent constant temperature drying system, each section of the oven has independent air intake and exhaust, and the air volume of each section of the oven is strictly calculated to ensure the high efficiency of the oven. The drying efficiency of Lisen’s oven is not much different from imported equipment, and its energy consumption is also very low. Once the coating machine oven is done well, it can help customers with energy management. The tension of the oven must be small, as excessive tension can cause unstable product quality due to material stretching.

 

5) Rear traction

 

Active traction, controlled by Yaskawa servo motor. Surface flow channel design, dual cooling roller cooling.

 

6) Roll up and roll up

 

The unwinding and unwinding of the coating machine adopts automatic roll changing without stopping the machine, avoiding the damage caused by manual shutdown for film changing and film pulling, saving the original film, coating and heat energy, thereby reducing production costs, reducing labor intensity of workers, and reducing environmental pollution.

 

The key technology for achieving automatic overlap in rewinding lies in the precise calculation of the speed of rewinding new materials based on the coating speed by the PLC, as well as the time when the film overlap joint reaches the rewinding position after the overlap is completed and the film is broken. By synchronizing and coordinating the front and back, automatic overlap in rewinding can be achieved without affecting normal coating operations.

 

7) Whole machine tension

 

The tension control system of the coating machine mainly consists of PLC controller, motion control part, human-machine operation part, and logic control part. This coating machine uses original components from major brands such as Siemens PLC, Weilun color touch screen, Siemens servo motor, Yaskawa frequency converter, Schneider switch contactor, etc. The use of five swing roller tension closed-loop control ensures the stability of the overall tension of the machine. At the same time, high-precision electronic proportional valves are used for winding, combined with PLC automatic winding diameter calculation to achieve multiple taper methods for automatic winding. Automatic counting, automatic speed adjustment, automatic belt breakage detection, automatic fault alarm, and automatic clutch of pneumatic components.
