Longdapac is researching a new, T Ü V certified home compostable flexible packaging solution for dried strawberry pouches products.
Longdapac’s composite materials use PEFC certified plant-based resources and do not contain genetically modified organisms or PLA. It is also certified by T Ü V as compostable under normal composting conditions for 26 weeks and compostable in industrial composting facilities for 12 weeks.
Compostable packaging is designed to meet the carbon reduction requirements of new products that are grown, processed, and packaged on farms – with the aim of minimizing the carbon footprint of each product.
In addition, the company seeks to improve crop utilization by processing fruits that are too large, too small, or deformed for retail specifications, using a combination of pulse and freeze-drying to dry fruit chunks without affecting their original shape, flavor, and nutrition.
